If you've ever sat in our Upper Circle seating area
you'll know that while the view and sound quality is great, the
seats are not as comfortable as those in the Stalls and Circle.
Although we have tried to reflect that in the reduced price for
these seats, many customers have written in to ask us to replace
them.
Well - we have exciting news... new Upper Circle seating is on
its way! This will mean wider cushioned seats with increased
legroom.
This is a major project and in order to assist in paying for
this large-scale project we are asking everyone to pay just 50p
extra whenever they buy a ticket*. This Seating Improvement
Contribution will be applied to every ticket purchased from 1
February 2011 onwards. We will keep you informed of the
progress of this project and when the target is reached, we will
remove the 50p contribution.
So far you have helped raise**: £107,704.
Thank you for your help in improving your theatre.
The new seats will be in place from September 2012 - though we will
continue to collect the Seating Improvement Contributions until we
have raised the remaining funds needed.

Sponsor a new seat:
Would you like your name, that of a loved one or simply a
message of your choice on a plaque attached to one of our new Upper
Circle seats? It would be the perfect way to remember someone
who once came here or a lovely birthday gift for a fan of the
arts.
We are now taking orders for sponsorship of our new Upper Circle
seats. It will cost just £150 per seat for 5 years. To
book yours just call 029 2087 8889 to make your
purchase and we will write to you with details of how to get your
message to us. For orders taken before 31 July 2012 we are
happy to accept standing order payments for seat sponsorship.
Please note that we will accept requests for specific seat numbers,
but cannot guarantee that your first choice will be
available. When asking for your preferred message, we will
ask for a selection of seat numbers you consider special. If
you have no preference we are happy to allocate a seat number for
you.
Important - Sponsorship of a seat does not confer any claim over
its ownership nor any rights to book it ahead of other
customers. The New Theatre reserves the right to decline any
message considered inappropriate.
All money raised from the sales of the old seats and sponsorship of
the new ones will be used to fund this seating improvement
project.
