Educational Workshops

The Woman in Black educational workshops look at the production and rehearsal process, addressing particular craft, thematic and character developments. The workshops focus on dramatic elements  that relate directly to the GCSE and A-Level syllabuses. Led by theatre professionals, these workshops maximise students' experience of watching The Woman in Black through practical examination and investigation of the play's core themes. Students examine the mechanics that make the play such an effective piece of theatre; investigating how The Woman in Black creates tension whilst sharpening students' literaryand drama analysis skills. Playing with imaginative and resourceful storytelling techniques, students explore how the performers work with set, props and each other to tell a story. The workshops encourage students to participate, be brave and creative and in so doing build confidence in their own ideas.

The workshop lasts one hour and will take place at midday prior to the Wednesday 7 June matinee of The Woman in Black. The workshop can accommodate 10 - 25 students and costs £300 per school.

To book workshop places please call the Box Office on 029 2087 8889. Workshop places are strictly limited and will only be allocated to schools / colleges who have already made a group reservation for the matinee performance.
